How does Laser Hair Removal work, and what should I expect during my visit to Chan Ramos MedSpa?

Consultation

We first meet with you for a one-on-one consultation. During this time, we will explain the laser hair removal process, assess the treatment area(s), and build your custom hair reduction plan.

Preparation

On the day of your appointment, we will cleanse the treatment area(s) to ensure the laser of your choice has a clean slate. We will also provide protective eyewear for your safety.

Setting Customization

To begin with, we select the laser hair removal setting that best suits your skin and hair tone. As a result, you receive safe and personalized treatment and the best outcomes possible.

Hair Reduction

Once the appropriate setting is chosen, we run the laser handpiece over the treatment area(s), focusing on places with the highest concentration of hair follicles. Throughout the process, you may experience a slight heating and/or snapping sensation. After, your skin may have mild redness and swelling; however, those side effects are temporary.

How do I prepare for laser hair removal?

During your consultation, we will provide detailed instructions on how to prepare for laser hair removal. This includes avoiding other hair removal treatments (waxing, plucking, creams, etc.) for at least for weeks prior to treatment. You are also advised to not shave 24 hours before your appointment.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

For most clients, laser hair removal does not hurt. You may experience a snapping sensation, but the feeling rapidly dissipates. Since our staff consists of some of the most experienced laser technicians in the area, Chan Ramos MedSpa always prioritizes your comfort above all.

Why do I need more than one laser hair removal treatment?

You need more than one laser hair removal treatment because your hair grows in cycles. Laser hair removal only targets hair during the growing phase, and not all hair follicles enter that phase at the same time. Therefore, it is important to continue with your custom treatment plan to gain the most benefit.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Yes, laser hair removal is permanent. However, you should note that the treatments lead to permanent hair reduction. Some people may notice hair growth, but the hair will be thinner and less dense than before.
